reRoute vs Dub
Dub is the comparison we respect most, because it gets the core thing right: like reRoute, it does not meter destination edits, so a printed code stays repointable. The differences are around that core — Dub Pro costs $27 a month billed annually and meters new links at 1,000 a month; reRoute Pro costs $3.99 billed annually and meters neither. The short version
If you want an open-source link platform with a developer ecosystem around it, Dub is excellent and this page will not pretend otherwise. The trade is price and metering: Dub Pro is $27 a month billed annually with 1,000 new links a month and three seats; reRoute Pro is $3.99 billed annually with unmetered link creation, five seats, and analytics kept for the life of the account instead of one year. Both leave destination edits unlimited, which is the feature a dynamic QR code exists for.

Fair questions
- Is reRoute a drop-in replacement for Dub?
- For shortlinks, QR codes, scan analytics and device or country routing, yes — export your links from Dub as CSV and import them. Links on Dub-hosted domains stay with Dub, since no provider can transfer another provider's domain. If you used your own custom domain on Dub, you can point that domain at reRoute on the Enterprise plan and the paths keep resolving.
- Doesn't Dub also have unlimited destination edits?
- Yes. Dub Pro does not meter destination edits, and we would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise. The differences are the link allowance — Dub Pro lists 1,000 new links a month against our unmetered creation — the price, the seat count, and how long analytics are kept.
- Why is reRoute so much cheaper than Dub?
- Static QR codes render in your browser instead of on our servers, so the free tier costs us close to nothing, and redirects are inexpensive to operate. We price Pro at operating cost plus a margin. Dub builds for developers and teams with a heavier feature surface, and its price reflects that.
- When is Dub the better choice?
- If you want an open-source tool you can read or self-host, or you are deep in a developer workflow where Dub's ecosystem is already established, Dub is a strong product and you should weigh it seriously. This page exists for the buyer whose printed codes mostly need to keep working and stay editable at the lowest workable price.
